Davido posted to Instagram today with a message that has sparked hope and awe from fans worldwide. In the post, he talks about time. There’s a time to “grieve and a time to heal,” and that is what fans are taking from this deeply resonating Instagram post. With over 1 million likes and over 263 thousand comments in under four hours, the outpouring of love and support is easily evident.
This post marks the first time Davido has published anything this year on social media. Last year, he went through a tremendous loss with the sudden and tragic death of his son. He not only offered optimism but also grace in knowing that his music, as an artist, continues to evolve into an opportunity to speak to fans in deeply personal ways. That is what this album represents. He entitled the project Timeless, to be released at the end of this month on March 31.
The album, for Davido, is an evolution. He says that Timeless is
a body of work that goes beyond fashion and trends it’s an authentic body of work that remains true to my core as an artist – using my music to bring joy to my fans across the world. The songs you hear today will be just as relevant tomorrow, that’s why it’s TIMELESS.
This is Davido’s first studio album since 2020, when he released A Better Time. He dropped additional singles like “Champion Sound” with Focalistic, and his collaboration with FIFA for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Official Soundtrack with the single “Hayya Hayya (Better Together).” In preparation for the release of Timeless, Davido published the following visuals on Instagram.
