25 time Grammy Award Winning artist Stevie Wonder is in Ghana, celebrating a very momentous event. Not only is it his 74th birthday, but he is also receiving his citizenship certificate for Ghana. He will henceforth be known as a dual citizen of both the U.S., where he was born and raised, and now Ghana, where he took the Oath of Allegiance earlier today.
A birthday cake complemented the ceremony as his family and all of Ghana celebrated this powerful moment. President Akufo-Addo confirmed the groundbreaking and pioneering recording artist and songwriter’s Ghanaian citizenship status. Many can be seen celebrating and participating in the ceremony throughout the eventful day.
