Beverly Johnson was the very first Black person to grace the cover of Vogue magazine. Not the first African American woman, but the first Black person, man or woman, to be photographed for the iconic cover. Recently, Johnson sat down with Vogue to paint the scene for us. It was 1974, and the moment is relived by Johnson in the video below.
