The New York African Film Festival has partnered with Film at Lincoln Center, Maysies Cinema and the Brooklyn Academy of Music for its 31st edition. This year, the festival features 50 films from over 25 different countries, showcasing the work of African and diaspora filmmakers. The screenings will run at the Film at Lincoln Center from May 8 – 14, the Maysies Cinema from May 17 – 19, and BAM from May 24 – 30 under the theme “Convergence of Time.”
The festival opened its programming on May 8 with the North American premiere of “Over The Bridge,” a film by Tolu Ajayi. The screening as well as the afterparty, which followed directly after the film, was hosted at the Lincoln Center’s Walter Reade Theater.
