Ogunmola Sowemimo; a young lady that is being celebrated as the first Nigerian female Boeing 787 pilot. In addition, she is also the first Nigerian female pilot to fly for Qatar Airways.
Worthy of celebration, the chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, took to her Twitter page to celebrate the Nigerian pilot.
As expected, Some Nigerians took to the comment section to congratulate the pilot for her achievements. On the other hand, others including former lawmaker Shehu Sani used the opportunity to ask questions about Nigerian Airways. He wrote; “My sister, Update on Nigeria Air needed.”
He was not alone though. A Twitter user also wrote; “This is actually a shame! We are celebrating another airline coming into our country, and our national flying as their pilot. Why can’t we have an airline like @qatarairways that our pilots can fly? What do we really have in this country we can be proud of?“

What are your thoughts; should the achievement of Ogunmola Sowemimo be celebrated or is it a slap on the Nigerian Government’s face?
