On September 12, Vogue presented one of the most spectacular live fashion runway events to date. In celebration of their 130th anniversary, the magazine created a star-studded event with supermodels to match. The celebrities in attendance and those walking the New York street runway attended in droves. Among them included Erykah Badu, Kanye West, Doja Cat, Keke Palmer, Imaan Hammam, Ajak Deng, Precious Lee, Madonna’s daughter and so much more!
According to The Cut, the ticket price, $3,000; the event, described as the ultimate exclusive fashion night out. To start things off, the cover model from Vogue’s September issue, Serena Williams, opened the show. She looked incredibly stunning in her metallic ensemble, paired with gorgeous statement earrings to top off her slicked back hair. She walked to a recording of herself. The track included a quote from her 2000 Wimbledon match. The recording, taped by NBC, said this: “I want people to remember me as the girl who changed tennis or just was able to bring something new to the game.” Powerful, poignant and right on the mark. This is the way she played (and changed) the game of tennis.
