I don’t know if you realize it but Buick is a luxury brand. Sure, the others high-end automotive brands are unwilling to recognize Buick as a contender and the general public has been slow to catch on, but no matter what, Buick has been steadily improving the quality of its vehicles year by year.
In fact, during a recent test drive of the Buick Enclave, I happened to see a friend. I honked and she hopped in wit- hout getting a chance to really look at the car. Once inside, she glanced around and asked, “Is this a Mercedes?” Not that the two brands look very much alike but this story speaks to the level of quality now inherent in the average Buick.
In 2015, Buick introduced a beautiful concept car at the Detroit Auto Show. The Avenir was never put into production but its design cues became the basis for many other vehicles like the 2017 Buick LaCrosse. During this year’s 2016 auto show, Buick dropped jaws again by releasing an even more spectacular concept car named the Avista.
Outside, the Avista is sleek and dynamic with uninterrupted lines that stretch the whole length of the car, suggesting forward motion. The Avista is also long and wide, which lends to the impression of a high-performance vehicle. Perhaps the most notable thing about the Avista’s exterior, however, is its unique color. No,
it isn’t blue. Buick created a special color for this beautiful ride called “Dark Sapphire Jewel”.
The Avista also takes a stab at predicting the future with the inclusion of unusual features like air-quality control, noise cancellation, ionic air purifiers and aromatherapy. You probably won’t see the Avista on the street but if you happen to attend an auto show, it definitely worth a closer look.
